FIFA World Cup schedule in IST & DDNational, Sony Six coverage plan for Brazil 2014

Hindi commentary fans DD1 will air 

opening match, semis & final in Hindi

Here is the FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014 schedule with timings in Indian Standard Time. 24 matches will be aired in 9:30pm slot, 13 matches in 12:30 am slot, 16 matches in 1:30 am slot, 10 matches in 3:30 am slot & a match at 6:30 am.

Sony Six & Sony Six HD will air all 64 matches in English, 56 matches will be aired on Sony Aath in Bangla. Sony has also launched LivSports.in to live stream FIFA World cup.

There will be no Hindi commentary despite rating & research showing huge success of soccer Hindi commentary. However pubcaster DD National will air opening match, 2 semis & final in Hindi with Novy Kapadia & Ghaus Mohammed calling the game.

56 matches will be aired with

Bangla commentary on SonyAath

Sony Six will also air two new shows on all match days: a wrap of the day at prime time titled ‘Cafe Rio’ and a live breakfast show called ‘Football Extraaa’. 

Expert panel for these two shows include Peter Crouch, Robbie Fowler, Peter Shilton, Mikael Silvestre, Ellyse Perry (Australian sportswoman who has played both football & cricket for Aussies), and Sunil Chhetri & John Abraham.

‘Cafe Rio’ will be telecast at 8pm and will lead up to the beginning of the match at 9.30pm; it will be a blend of sports and entertainment and will also focus on trivia about victorious teams, historical venues and players.

‘Football Extraaa’ will be a daily morning show on the previous day’s matches. It will be aired between 8am and 9am and will be in an interactive format where viewers can dial in and share their perspective or ask questions.
